How often do you replace the UV light in UV Pure? I have the Culligan AquaUV Sterilizer and I have to replace the UV light once a year! And the cost has been going up about 10% a year for the past 3 years!!! Is there anyway to determine indepedently when the UV light is no longer effective?

Thank you,
Alberto

I actually have a question, specefically about microscopic organisms like parasites abundance in standing water versus running water in relation to the fish. My question is do you possibly have any sources that you can direct me to that would contain information to the topic I mentioned, because I am actually interested in knowing what the literature has to say about microscopic organisms, specefically parasites on fish in standing water versus moving water.

I'm in Polk County too, and have just noticed the smell yesterday. The smell is detectable from my kitchen and bathroom faucet; not my shower though, which I assume is due to the fact that I have a separate filter on that. Please post what the county said/did so I know if I should contact them as well if this is possibly a water treatment issue...Thanks!

[...] For your needs of a few glasses of water a day, a pitcher type filter would likely be the easiest and most inexpensive way of improving the taste. I have compared two popular brands, Brita Vs. PUR. You can read that article by clicking here: Brita Jug vs. PUR Jug. [...]

It is likely that there is an improper water trap in the drain. The water trap, or p-trap, traps water when the system is not draining to block sewer gas from coming up out of the drain. If there is no trap or the trap is draining because it was improperly plumbed, sewer gas can escape.

Call the installers and advise them of the issue, and that they need to put in or fix the p trap.

I hope this helps,

I just got a new top load HE washer and am noticing a rotten egg smell coming from it, usually when it is NOT operating. The drain is UNDER the washer.
How can we eliminate the odor?

What great ideas! I live in a hot dry desert, where temperatures reach up to 120 degrees, and boy that's hot! All of these cooling off techniques sound great. I think I'll give them a try! Thanks :)
